Barça Academy is the official soccer academy of FC Barcelona. The main goal of Barça Academy is to give players around the world the opportunity to learn the prestigious methodology and values of FC Barcelona.

Barça Academy offers an exclusive annual training program based on the unique Barça style. Players will have the opportunity to learn the same successful methodology which developed players such as Messi, Iniesta, and Piqué.

Yes, we are the official FC Barcelona training program in the United States. Any other clubs or organizations in VA/MD/DC using the logo, name or likeness of FC Barcelona are not official.

Training starts in mid-August and continues through mid-June with a break from mid-December to mid-January.

Barça Academy Northern Virginia Full Time Training Program is a ten-month soccer school starting in mid-August and running through mid-June. Teams will train three times per week and then have competitions on the weekends.

Boys and Girls U7 to U19 (Birth years 2013 to 2001 for the 2020/2021 season)

Yes, Barça Academy Northern Virginia has a goalkeeper program for all aspiring goalkeepers. The training is goalkeeper specific, and second to none.

Yes, U7 to U9 players compete in internal league play designed and organized by Barça Academy along with tournaments and friendly matches throughout the season. Players U10 and up compete both in internal league play and external leagues as well as tournaments and friendly matches. Players also have opportunities for international trips and tournaments.

A tryout or evaluation is required for all potential new players, tryouts for the upcoming season (2020/2021) will be held in June. Please complete the Tryout Registration form (link) to secure your spot within an upcoming tryout session.

If offered a spot in the Academy, you will receive a welcome email notifying the player of being accepted with additional key information.

An official FC Barcelona Technical Director, from Barcelona lives in Northern Virginia for the entire year to lead the weekly training sessions and teach the world renowned FCB techniques. Along with him, other highly qualified coaches from Spain and local coaches are coaching at Barça Academy Northern Virginia.

Throughout the season, coaches may rotate between teams and age groups. This exposes them to more players in the Academy and provides the players the opportunity to learn the same methodology through different coaching styles.

Barça Academy Northern Virginia coaching staff must meet the highest standards of professionalism and passion to teach the game through the FCB methodology. Teams are formed based on age group and level of the players. Upon being accepted into the Academy, the Technical Staff determines movement and placement of players on teams based on their current level of play and developmental needs. Team placement adjustments may also be made throughout the season based on the Technical Director’s evaluation of the players.

The number of tournaments per year will vary depending on age groups and the developmental needs of the teams.

Several players from the program will be selected each season to train at the FC Barcelona HQ in Barcelona and participate at the Barça Academy World Cup. Additional international trips and tours are also scheduled for different age groups each season.

While it is important for players to take initiative and ownership of their recruitment process, Barça Academy Northern Virginia provides opportunities, guidance, and resources to players interested in continuing their soccer careers with our Next Level Program. Barça Academy is committed to helping players achieve their goals.

No, we do not offer housing accommodations.  The Barça Academy Northern Virginia is not a residential academy.

Please contact us for program details and cost. Seasonal Academy tuition includes training, and internal league play. External league play fees, tournaments, and uniform costs are NOT included.

When joining Barça Academy Northern Virginia there is a non-refundable commitment fee that secures your child’s spot. The remaining balance can be paid in full upon registration or broken up into monthly installment payments. Please kindly note that we do not prorate training fees, when registering your commitment is for the full season. The payment plan offered during registration is an optional payment schedule. Alternatively, you may pay the remaining tuition in one, full payment and receive a 5% discount.

There is a 5% discount on the program fees for paying in full upon registration. There is also a 15% sibling discount.

Uniforms will be purchased through www.soccer.com. Barça Academy will send ordering information upon registration and families will purchase required items through soccer.com and orders will be shipped directly to your home.
